Selecting a nursing review program should be done with care by asking lots of questions. Remember this is your future and passing the nursing exam is life changing. It can provide you with increased income and status so before you choose a nursing review program do some investigating. Being an informed consumer is the right path to take.

Almost all answers to the question can seem correct but listen carefully and take notes.

Assessment:
1. Make a list of questions you would like to be answered such as:
(a) how many students have passed the exam after completing the program.
(b) Can I speak to some of the candidates who have used your program?
(c) Is someone available to answer my questions during and after the program?
(d) if I am unsuccessful on the nursing exam, can I repeat the program and how much will it cost me to do?, etc.

2. Takes notes and make a list of all the good points for each nursing review program. Score the review programs by using a point system such 1-5, five being the best.
3. Tally up all the scores and the one with the highest score should be your best choice.
4. Or look at the features that best address your individually needs.
The Right Path, LLC believes once you have done your home work, you will be successful.

Location – Take the right Path

Most review program are presented from a hotel setting, few are presented from a permanent location. Obtain students to instructor ratio. How many students are in the class and the length of the review class? Class room with 20 persons or less is the best environment for learning. If the classroom is larger, it will be very difficult for the instructor to give you the one to one attention you may require.

Know what you are looking for is the right path

There are two main ingredients to passing the nursing exam, (1) content review and (2) test taking skills. Look for these two components, if the review program is not in the business to help you to the pass the exam, stay away.  Once you have graduated from nursing school you have adequate content information. You may need more of the test taking skills and The Right Path can help you to ace the NCLEX nursing exam.

Knowing what are test taking skills, is the right path and the only right path to take

Test taking skills teaches you how to pass the nursing exam. The program should provide you with step by step methods for locating the best answer and how to be successful on the writing the nursing exam. The program should be designed to introduce you to several test taking strategies that can assist you in taking the exam successfully. Your ultimate success can be maximized if you actively participate in learning test taking skills. Are you aware that the information that you will be learning is not new and the program should teach you how to use the test taking strategies to ace the nursing exam.

Are you’re committed to the right path?

“Practice makes perfect” This is so true, if you learn the test taking skills and not use them, you will lose them.  Once you have learned test taking skills you should use them all the time to answer your practice test questions and you use then in writing your nursing exam.  At first you might feel like the skills are not working. It is just like learning how to dance the moves appear difficult but once you learn them and practice them on a regular basis you will enjoy and attained your goal, passing the nursing exam.
Make sure you participate in your learning.  Learning is not a one way street but a two way street. No review program can make you pass the exam if you fail to study and practice the test taking strategies.

Evaluation is the only right path.
If you have done everything on your path and still you are not successful then you should do a very thorough assessment of your study habits, review the areas that you need the most improvement in, what you believed you have learned from the program and note the total numbers of hours you spent practicing your skills.

Some nursing review program will offer a discount for repeat test takers.

At the end of the day it is not the review program that ensures your success but your commitment, discipline, perseverance and hard work that will determine your success.  Make sure you understand test taking strategies before you write the exam.  Remember this is your quest; therefore invest time in practicing test questions and reviewing test taking strategies.
