THE RIGHT PATH GUIDE TO GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR STUDY GROUP SESSIONS FOR THE NCLEX NURSING EXAM – RN & PN. Location, Location, Location, Location -- find a place where you can concentrate, comfortable and free from any interruptions. (I.e. no cell phones, beepers, TV, distraction from family and friends). Some libraries often have study rooms that you can reserve on a regular basis. These study rooms are perfect since they offer a space designed for studying and all the amenities such a large table, chairs and resources for studying. Group Size is a matter of preference and you decide that you fit your style of studying. Some individuals do much better with two--just two people dedicated to the same goal who are a good "fit" or other can strive on group of four people. Be very careful not to overextend your study group, it should be larger than 4-5 person. More people can create more confusion and less time on studying for the NCLEX nursing exam. Brain Food -- If you're hosting a group meeting or are simply attending someone else's meeting, make sure you have plenty of water to drink or your favorite non alcoholic drink (no alcohol, and caffeine in moderation). Eat a healthy meal before studying because you can’t get anything done on an empty stomach. There should be some energy snacks food like fruits, some cookies and chips, etc. Breaks -- Take a break every 45-55 minutes and have a snack and socialize for about 10 minutes or do some stretching exercise. The Right Path Guide to Choosing a Nursing Review Program.Selecting a nursing review program should be done with care by asking a lot of questions. Remember this is your future and passing the nursing exam is life changing. It can provide you with increased income and status so before you chose a nursing review program do some investigation. Being an informed consumer is the right path to take.Almost all answers to the question can seem correct but listen carefully and take notes. Assessment: 1. Make a list of questions you would like to be answered such as: (1) how many students have passed the exam after completing the program. (2) Can I speak to some of the candidates who have used your program? (3) Is someone available to answer my questions during and after the program? (4) if I am unsuccessful on the nursing exam, can I repeat the program and how much will it cost me to do?, etc. 2. Takes notes and make a list of good points for each nursing review program. Score the review program by using a point system such 1-5, five being the best. 3. Tally up all the scores and the one with the highest score should be your best choice. 4. Or look at the features that best address your individually needs.
